GeoConcept Standard includes routing functionality and a useful fill a distance field which enable you to update each surveyed customer or each output area (for example) with the distance to a specific location. Where there are lots of possible locations, generating a time and distance matrix or using Service Allocator is a quicker more efficient approach.
The GeoConcept isochrone and distance module adds the ability to create a catchment around each specified point enclosing everywhere which can be reached within a specified time or by travelling a specified distance along the road network.
The Enhanced Drive Time module can produce many isochrones around many points at once. So you could generate 5,10,15 minute isochrones around each store location in a single operation. The system automatically names the isochrones according to a user specified field (e.g. store name) and the number of minutes. The system is more advanced than others on the market not being constrained to nodes in the network and offering flexibility in buffer size with additional features to improve representation of overlying isochrones in coastal areas. To fully understand the benefits of this module, contact MapMechanics for your own demonstration or a detailed discussion.
The accuracy of your drive time result is not only dependent on the software, but also the level of detail and structure in your road network, the speeds allocated to each road. MapMechanics are specialists in this area and can help you understand which network is best for you. |
