GeoConcept Expert Desktop GIS

Includes everything in GeoConcept Standard. Ideal for use with larger databases, GeoConcept Expert can open maps and run queries 8 to 10 times faster than the Standard version. The Expert version includes more sophisticated data capture facilities, network manipulation and handling of overlapping objects. Other additional functions in the Expert version include the isochrone and distance module, network building, cleaning and generalising.

GeoConcept Expert also includes FREE MapMechanics Modules to help you work more quickly and efficiently, especially for those regular tasks such as cleaning up your postcode data for more effective geocoding or calculating times and distances, for example from every customer to every depot.

Drive Time Isochrone and Distance Module

The GeoConcept isochrone and distance module creates drive time and distance catchments around stores, depots etc. It also generates matrices of distances and times between two sets of points.

Enhanced Isochrone Module

This enhanced module works in batch mode and uses a unique algorithm to create detailed drive time catchments around selected objects. The module can create just one or several different isochrones around each object.  Each isochrone automatically named with the name of the object plus the time or distance chosen, e.g. Reading 10. The ability to run a batch of isochrones is particularly powerful when analysing an entire network of stores, depots, competitor catchments etc.

Publisher Module

Provides a set of tools to enable professional quality map production with GeoConcept. Display text that curves alongside a line object for neater street name labeling, export in PostScript, define all your colours in terms of CYBK (Cyan, Yellow, Blue and Black) and save preferred colours.

SmartLabel Module

When using street-level maps or maps with many labeled features, positioning names can be a challenging and often time consuming task.

The SmartLabel module helps by placing labels on vector maps dynamically according to the screen view at the time. It will for instance move the names if the screen window is shrunk, or abbreviate them if space is limited. It also has the intelligence to repeat street names on very long streets, or offset labels if there are too many too close together.

This module helps create meaningful paper or screen maps - first time!

Batch Print Module

Batch Print is invaluable when you need to make print outs of many different parts of your map. Perhaps a map of each sales territory or a separate print out for each postcode area showing delivery rounds within. The module automatically centres the next area of interest on the page and determines whether landscape or portrait, A3 or A4 size is most appropriate for the shape and zoom of the chosen area. Legend is user definable and can automatically change with map content. Labeling is user-definable and can be standard for all maps or can automatically alter according to the area depicted. For example, the name of the area and total number of deliveries in the territory. A shading control, can automatically shade all areas of the map which are not the main subject of interest.

Zone Identifier Module

Use this fast tool to identify which zone each of your objects lies within and update their records accordingly. For example, identify which sales territory each prospect lies within and update the record with the name of the appropriate account manager.

Postcode Formatter Module

This GeoConcept module helps overcome many of the problems caused by inaccurate postcode data entry. Commonly, an “o” maybe typed instead of a zero or if caps lock is on by mistake a “£” might be typed instead of a “3”. Postcode formatter looks for these errors and corrects them in addition to removing excess spaces etc. This powerful tool increases the number of records which will successful match postcode files and therefore geocode correctly to appear on your map.
