OptiSite automatically calculates the least cost options and allocates demand points such as customers, crime incidents, prospects, or patients to efficient territories.

Thinking about increasing the sales force or merging with another company? This is often a time when a number of different possible options are available to cut costs, perhaps there are overlapping territories, perhaps a new centre could amalgamate existing areas more efficiently. By using OptiSite you can look at the trade-off between capital costs and running costs.

What type of territory management do you need?

Optimising Distribution Depot Territories?

As the number of distribution depots goes up so the transport costs from the depots to the customers come down. However each depot has expense associated with it, so as there are more depots the costs go up. OptiSite helps you to find the balance.

Managing Sales Territories?

Your requirement is to divide the country into a number of sales territories. They should have approximately equal potential and compact, requiring the sales people to spend the minimum unproductive time in their cars. Use GeoConcept to import your customers onto the map then set OptiSite to work balancing the territories. Finally if you need to make manual adjustments, all the interactive power of GeoConcept is at your disposal.

Franchise Management?

You want to create franchise areas. If they are too large then the franchiser loses out; if too small then they will not generate sufficient income for the franchisee. Use OptiSite for GeoConcept to help you find the optimum solution.

Service Management?

If you use service territories to help you plan your operation then OptiSite can help you to look at resource planning. Import your customer data onto the map and then let the powerful algorithms help to allocate customers to existing centres or plan new ones.

Key Features

Evaluate optimal arrangement of territories for different scenarios

You can easily import and analyse customer data, then using the power of OptiSite you can examine different scenarios. You may want to explore either a green-fields approach, or take into account your existing sites, or use a combination of new and existing sites.

Choose crow fly or road options to calculate travel distances between demand and resource.

OptiSite for GeoConcept can work with crow-fly or road distances. MapMechanics can supply road maps at different levels of detail for the entire world. For maps of Great Britain the road network can be enhanced with ITIS speeds, giving an indication of road speeds on individual road links.

Capacity constraints

Model includes resource costs and can be set to constrain workload allocated to every resource or to specific resources. For example each depot may have a different specified capacity or you might say any sales person can handle up to 150 accounts.

Fast auto colour feature

When the optimisation is complete, simply click to see the map coloured according to suggested territories. If two adjacent territories have a similar colour, select and randomise colour to improve map clarity.

Batch territory creation

High productivity features in the module allow you to save and re-run settings plus a batch mode lets you examine many scenarios in one run.
