Course objectives

The course provides a practical grounding in the basic ideas and skills to TruckStops. Following the course, students will be able to manipulate the input files for TruckStops, generate and modify fleet schedules, and produce printed and electronic output from the system.

Who should attend?

The course is relevant for traffic planners, transport managers and IT support personnel. The number of students on each course is limited to 6. You will have your own computer to work on to ensure that each student has sufficient access to the course tutors for help and advice. However, if you prefer you can share with a colleague.

Course content

The course is organised as a series of classroom style presentations interspersed with hands-on exercises which grow in complexity as the training progresses. Sessions are informal and questions and comments are encouraged. See Topics covered opposite.

You are not expected to have any prior knowledge of TruckStops or vehicle routing and scheduling systems in general, however you should be a confident Microsoft Windows computer user, happy with the various ways of using a mouse and keyboard and comfortable with the concepts of files and directory structures. Please speak to your sales contact if you are unsure how you might fit in.
